4. Swapno Tori
Swapno Tori, led by Ms Madhumita Jana, is a self-help group based in South 24 Parganas, West Bengal, specializing in handmade products like jewellery, saris, and more.
Their mission is to empower women and promote their creations. Starting with 5 members, they now have 39 groups with 390 women, all skilled in various areas. They collaborate with companies, schools, and events to showcase their products.
The organization, rooted in the Kankura Masat Social Welfare Society, was officially registered in 2003. They aim to expand, empowering more women in the community.
Ms Madhumita, a village girl, overcame opposition to study and even create this organization, focusing on training and empowerment. They aspire to introduce new products, support pottery workers, and grow their reach. Their client base includes corporations, companies, and individuals, with products sold at Dilli Haat.
