Another year passes. Like every year, this year, too, India had its fair share of overwhelming achievements and heart-breaking tragedies. However, it can be rightly said that India has shown a huge improvement in various sectors this year, be it sports, entertainment, scientific invention, or cultural significance.
Achievements in sports
2024 was an exceptionally prosperous year for India in sports. Right now, it is safe to say that Indians are equally taking pride in other sports as cricket.

On 29th June Indian Cricket team bags the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup after defeating South Africa.

This year in the Paris Olympics, India achieves two bronze medals in 10-metre air pistol as Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh showcase their talent and dedication in the global platform.

India continues its winning streak in the Paris Olympics as India’s men’s national field hockey team brings home a bronze medal by re-igniting their old glory.

Neeraj Chopra once again proves his excellence and wins the hearts of every Indian by winning a silver medal in the Javelin throw.

On the same occasion, Aman Sehrawat wins a bronze medal in Men’s freestyle (57 kg).

Finally, on 12th December 18-year-old Gukesh Dommaraju leaves everyone in awe by becoming the youngest person to win the World Chess Championship.
Achievements in science and technology

On 1st January 2024, ISRO successfully launches its first X-ray polarimeter satellite named XPoSat to study to polarization of X-rays in space.

Again, in January, ISRO’s first solar mission spacecraft Aditya-L1 successfully reaches its destination.

Another feather in India’s crown is the successful test launching of a hypersonic missile on Abdul Kalam island.
Achievements in infrastructure

On 15th February, India hits one of its biggest Infrastructure milestones by launching semi high-speed Vande Bharat express.

On 28th October, India successfully establishes its private military aircraft manufacturing facility in Vadodara and opens up the path for the participation of the private sector in the defence industry.
Achievements in art and culture

One of the biggest glories for India this year was the Prathistha of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh on 22nd January.

In May, this year Payal Kapadia’s fiction feature debut ‘All We Imagine As Light’ wins the Grand Prix at the 77th Cannes Film Festival.

On 26th July Charaideo Maidan of Assam is recognized as the 43rd UNESCO World Heritage site of India.
Achievements in climate and environment

India heavily focuses on electric vehicle manufacturing and adoption to reach its net-zero goal by 2027.

In 2024 Union Budget India emphasizes on “Green Growth” by investing in renewable energy resources.
As we have reached the end of the first quarter of the 21st century we can vow that we will bring more fortune and prosperity to India in 2025. With the collective efforts of every citizen, we will surely become the ‘Vishwaguru’.
