In the movie Darkman, Neeson portrays a superhero with Frankenstein-like proportions. Darkman, directed by Sam Raimi and created as a tribute to Universal monster movies, is a horrific, strange, and melancholic movie that Dr. Peyton Wilder, played by Liam Neeson, carries on his broken back. Neeson was a relatively unknown actor at the time, but Universal took a rewarding chance on the cast due to the popularity of Tim Burton's Batman the year before as well as Raimi's The Evil Dead trilogy. Neeson's Dr. Wilder is raucous, noisy, and unpredictable, in contrast to Schindler's List, which came out three years later. The performance is sure to bring you back to the same movie again once you are over the terror and want to witness the thrill again.

Batman Begins, the first movie in Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Trilogy, steered the superhero genre on a completely fresh, dark path that movies of similar structure would try to imitate for years to come. With compassion and crafty intelligence, Neeson brought the well-known villain Ra's al Ghul from the pages of DC Comics to life. Neeson, who is 6'4", intimidates everyone with his on-screen presence, including the youthful Bruce Wayne in the film. It helps that Neeson brings a good deal of combat skill and sharp, biting one-liners to his role. In the third and concluding instalment of the trilogy, The Dark Knight Rises, he shall return to this well-known role.

The gritty action film that has characterised the veteran actor's late-stage career. Liam Neeson plays a man with a very specific set of skills, including safecracking and bomb manufacturing. Neeson becomes the focal point of an FBI controversy as Tom Dolan. Playing a former marine wanted by the federal government due to previously being heavily involved in bank robberies, he strikes a deal with the FBI. The plot confronts the audience with a twist as he is betrayed by the officers who arrest him with their eyes on the money he has hidden away. Dolan was more interested in the rush of getting away with breaking the law than he was in making money. A terrific Neeson action movie usually and especially in this case offers to the audience- fistfights, chases, and surprising explosions, with the seasoned actor, of course, always coming out on top. Neeson frequently received praise from critics for his ability to carry the movie.
