The Bombay High Court has dismissed a 2006 case against singer Mika Singh, where he was accused of forcibly kissing actor Rakhi Sawant. A division bench consisting of Justices A S Gadkari and S G Dige dismissed the First Information Report (FIR) and chargesheet filed in the case. This decision was based on an affidavit provided by Rakhi Sawant, in which she gave her consent and stated that she and Mika Singh had resolved the issue amicably. The FIR was originally registered on June 11, 2006, following allegations that Mika Singh forcibly kissed Rakhi Sawant during his birthday party at a restaurant in Mumbai. Mika Singh had been charged with molestation (Section 354) and assault (Section 323) under the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Earlier this year, in April, Singh approached the High Court seeking the dismissal of the FIR and subsequent chargesheet filed by the police. On Thursday, the High Court examined the affidavit provided by Ms Sawant, in which she expressed that she and Mr. Singh had resolved their differences in a friendly manner and acknowledged that the entire dispute had arisen due to misunderstandings and misconceptions. Based on this affidavit, the High Court dismissed the FIR and chargesheet.
