The FIFA World Cup is all set to begin on November 20 in Qatar and the celebrations have surely begun!! Nora Fatehi, India's it-girl is going to perform at the opening ceremony for the World Cup at the Al Bayt Stadium in the city of Jor in Qatar. The Bollywood performer is going to 'Light Up the Sky' alongside international superstars like BTS, Lil Baby, Shakira and Dua Lipa. The pre-party though has already started with the release of 'Light The Sky' - the fourth single from the multi-song FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 official soundtrack that features the haunting vocals of Emirati singer Balqees, Iraqi superstar Rahma Riad, award-winning Moroccan singer-songwriter Manal and ofcourse apni Moroccan-Canadian sensation Nora Fatehi!
Nora shared the song video on her social media handle in which she is seen dancing and singing the Anthem Sony of FIFA World Cup ‘Light The Sky. The song signifies woman power and is produced by RedOne. Because it is FIFA and it is Qatar, one is sure of the song's look and feel being absolutely top-notch and electric but it has one more significance - it also celebrates the ground-breaking inclusion of female referees at the first-ever FIFA World Cup in the Middle East by featuring all six referees who will officiate at the tournament.
Nora will be the first Bollywood and Asian actress to perform at the upcoming ceremony. In February 2020, she also performed in the L'Olympia Bruno Coquatrix in Paris France, where she was applauded for her fusion of Arabic and Indian Dance themes.
As Nora takes in her success from the grand entry onto the international stage, she said, "Football, like music, is a universal language that has a passionate following — and I have witnessed this with my own eyes wherever I have travelled across the globe. It has been a privilege to collaborate with such passionate and talented women to create something that celebrates our roots and the excitement of the FIFA World Cup."
Well, we wish her all the best and look forward to her sensational presence at FIFA!
