Netflix has updated the way it publishes the top 10 movies list. It has changed in terms of the total number of views, instead of the total viewing time, which is how it was previously done. This calculation is done based on the total number of hours viewed divided by the total runtime.
The top 10 movie list always tends to give a good overview to the viewers to decide what should be in their next binge list. On this note, this update will be a haven for the Netflix people. This new update is effective from the time the official announcement was made.
Although from a technical point of view, some experts say this wouldn't make much of a difference in the films being ranked. They have mentioned that this will not mention a proper time scale of how long an individual user has watched the title from the start to the end.
