Neeraj Chopra all set to star in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

“Khel ho ya jung, Jitega wohi jiska nishana kabhi chukey nahi. Kabhi desh ke liye.. Kabhi khud ke liye..  Iss baar javelin utha raha hu Black Panther ke liye.”

Neeraj Chopra

Neeraj Chopra needs no introduction - his name and his javelin speak for themselves. His participation in the Commonwealth games was a consistent occurrence but it was not before his amazing feat at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo that Neeraj shot to international fame and became India's symbol of pride.

Hence, when a stalwart like that tweets something like this, the world sits up and takes notice. It seems this time he is back in the news and for the right reasons again, but not for his game. Neeraj Chopra will appear in the upcoming Black Panther: Wakanda Forever film from Marvel. A promotional video from Marvel Studio India features Indian gold medalist Neeraj Chopra as a warrior. Neeraj will portray the role of a warrior who joined the fight for Wakanda in the film.

While speaking with the media, Neeraj expressed his happiness and excitement saying, “I'm truly overjoyed that I can be a part of this journey and just like Black Panther, I hope to inspire people around the globe to never give up on their dreams. Being a huge Marvel fan, I just can't wait to watch the film and discover the new journey of Wakanda."

As the fan-favourite Chadwick Boseman passes, the Black Panther franchise became a much-awaited tribute to the late actor who was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2016 and died in 2020 at the age of 43. With a successful trailer launch, it seems the movie is expected to be received well by fans who cannot wait to experience the next Marvel movie on November 11, 2022. Following the news that Neeraj Chopra would be appearing in this Black Panther sequel, the excitement among the fans increased.

Neeraj posted a promotional video on his Twitter account wherein the first 46 seconds of the video featured Neeraj throwing a javelin before transitioning to the rest of the trailer. The character seems relatable and Marvel appears to have created the contours of his nature with grace, fire, and love. Black Panther served as an inspiration for Neeraj Chopra too. He says that this character stands for bravery, kindness, and devotion to one's country which are the ideals he stands for too as an Indian athlete.

“To celebrate the victory of good over evil, let's join this fight.”   See You at the Movies!
