National Awards 2022: The Complete List of Award Winners

The National Film Awards are the most important and respected film awards in India. It selects the Best of Indian cinema overall and particularly focuses on contributions of Indian art and culture. It was established in 1954. It has been administered, along with the International Film Festival of India and the Indian Panorama, by the Indian government's Directorate of Film Festivals since 1973.

GOLDEN LOTUS AWARD CATEGORY: 

Sumi won the Best Children’s film title. It is a feature film starring Divyesh Indulkar and Akansha Pingale.

Mandela by Madonne Ashwin won the Best Debut film title of Director.

Sachy won the Best Director title for Ayyappanum Koshiyum.

Soorarai Pottru won the Best Feature Film title. It was directed by Sudha Kongara and produced by Suriya and Guneet Monga.

Tanhaji won the Best popular film title for providing wholesome entertainment. It was directed by Om Raut and produced by Ajay Devgn, Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar.

SILVER LOTUS AWARD CATEGORY:

Ajay Devgn won the Best actor title for Tanhaji, The Unsung Warrior.

Suriya won the Best actor title for Soorarai Pottru.

Aparna Balamurali won the Best actor title for Soorarai Pottru.

Pearl of the Desert won the Best Audiography title by Ajit Singh Rathore. Originally it was titled Maru ro moti.

Dollu won the Best Audiography (location sound recordist) title by Jobin Jayan.

Malik won the Best Audiography (re-recordist of the final mixed track) title by Vishnu Govind and Sree Sankar.

Me Vasantrao won the Best Audiography (sound designer) title by Anmol Bhave.

Kishwar Desai won the Best book on cinema title for “The Longest Kiss”. 

Akansha Pingale and Divyesh Indulkar won the Best child artist title for Sumi.

Anish Mangesh Gosavi won the Best child artist title for Tak-Tak.

The Wanderlust of Apu by Supratim Bhol won the Best cinematography title. Originally it was titled Avijatrik.

Nachiket Barve and Mahesh Cheerla won the Best costume design title for Tanhaji.

Sivaranjiniyum Innum Sila Pengalum won the Best editing by Sreekar Prasad.

Manah Aru Manuh, a non-feature film won the Best environment film title.

Mandel ke Bol, a non-feature film won the Best ethnographic film title. It was directed by Ranjendra Janglay. 

Wheeling the Ball, another non-feature film won the Best exploration film title. 

Nanchamma won the Best female playback singer title for Ayyappanum Koshiyum. 

Taledanda, a feature film won the Best film title on environment conservation/ preservation. 

Kumkumarchan, a non-feature film won the Best film title on family values. 

Funeral, a feature film won the Best film title on social issues. It was directed by Vivek Rajendra Dubey. 

Justice Delayed but Delivered, a non-feature film won the Best film title on social issues. It was directed by Kamakhya Narayan Singh and produced by Mandeep Singh Chauhan. 

Three Sisters, another non-feature film won the Best film title on social issues. It was directed by Putul Mahmood. 

The Saviour: Brig. Pritam Singh won the Best investigative film title.

Manoj Muntashir for Saina won the Best lyrics title. 

Rambabu for Natyam won the Best makeup artist title. 

Rahul Despande won the Best male playback singer title for Me Vasantrao.

G.V. Prakash Kumar won the Best music direction: background score title for Soorarai Pottru. 

S.Thaman won the Best music direction: song title for Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo. 

Shobha Tharoor Sreenivasan won the Best narration/voiceover title for Rhapsody of Rains- Monsoons of Kerala. It is a non-feature film. 

Pradeep Lekhwar and Sandip Bhati won the Best on-location sound title for Jadui Jangal. 

Anees Nadodi won the Best production design title for Kappela.

Shalini Ushadevi and Sudha Kongara won the Best screenplay title for Soorarai Pottru.

The Boy with a Gun (aka kachichinithu) won the Best short fiction film title. It is a non-feature film directed and produced by Khanjan Kishore Nath. 

Rajasekhar, Mafia Sasi, Supreme Sundar won the Best stunt choreography title for Ayyappanum Koshiyum. 

Biju Menon won the Best supporting actor title for Ayyappanum Koshiyum.

Lakshmi Priyaa Chandramouli won the Best-supporting actress title for Sivaranjiniyum Innum Sila Pengalum.

Admitted, a non-feature film won the special jury award. It was directed by Ojaswwee Sharma.
