Korean vocalist Lee Sang Eun passed away unexpectedly on July 6. She was apparently discovered in her lavatory only moments before she was supposed to take the stage at the 33rd Regular Concert of the Gimcheon Municipal Choir. Staff employees at the concert venue reportedly found her on the toilet floor and phoned the police. She wasn't backstage when Lee Sang Eun was due to walk onto the stage. She was lying on the floor when I peeked in the bathroom, a staff member said. The singer was then transferred to a nearby hospital, where medical staff declared her dead. Police detectives are now probing into her death, so further information is expected. Sadly, three K-pop artists have passed away in the previous three months. A controversial K-pop artist named Choi Sung Bong was also found dead in his house in the southern Seoul district of Yeoksam-dong in June.
He allegedly committed suicide, according to police. Choi Sung Bong has been in the news because of a scandal involving his health. He had before claimed to be battling cancer, but it was later found that he had made up the claim that he was in the last stages of the disease. Choi Sung Bong left a note on his YouTube account just before he died away, which prompted some to suspect that he committed suicide, according to South Korean news site Yonhap. Before Choi, the K-pop performer Haesoo also committed suicide in May of this year. At the age of 29, her body was found in her hotel room. Trot was sung by Haesoo. She made her debut in 2019, and with the publication of her self-titled first album (literally, "My Life I Will"), she gained popularity.
