Kangana Hints at Joining Politics via BJP, Nadda hesitant to comment

Actress Kangana Ranaut is all set to take her political plunge and she has hinted she may be interested if BJP is willing to give her a shot.

Kangana has expressed her desire to contest the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections from Himachal Pradesh on a BJP ticket at a program on Saturday. Previously the actress had expressed no intentions of having a political career and was focused on her films. Dropping hints at the Saturday program Kangana made it clear about having a political entry through the Mandi constituency and through next month’s Himachal Pradesh Elections if she gets a ticket from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

Kangana said, “Whatever will be the situation... If the government wants my participation, then I will be very much open to all kinds of participation... It will be my honour if the people of Himachal Pradesh or the party wants me to contest; I will have no problem. So, definitely, it will be my good luck.”

On Kangana's statement BJP president, J.P. Nadda has reacted by saying, “BJP welcomes Kangana, but the decision to contest the elections will be taken only after consultation.” He added, “There is a lot of room in the party for anyone who wants to work for the party. It cannot be my decision alone whether Kangana should contest on the BJP ticket or not. For that, there is a process of the parliamentary committee, election commission from the grass root level of the party.”

He also explained the party’s stand saying they do not place anyone in the party on the basis of conditions. They have to come unconditionally to be a member of the party and only then will they make a decision. Speaking about the elections he was very confident about winning the Himachal Pradesh assembly elections. He also said that “Citizens of Himachal Pradesh will vote for BJP again. We are setting a winning trend under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”

Himachal Pradesh will go to polls in assembly elections on November 12 and the counting of the votes will be done on December 8. The state is all set to have a complete fight between the ruling BJP and the opposition Congress. And Congress is campaigning hard to regain its power back which was lost in 2017.
