Marvel Studios and the Walt Disney Company have severed ties with actor Jonathan Majors after he was convicted of assaulting and harassing his then-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. Conviction and Trial Details

Majors, 34, was convicted on two of the four charges brought against him: third-degree assault and second-degree aggravated assault. During the trial, Jabbari testified that the conflict turned physical when she discovered romantic texts on Major's phone. Majors allegedly twisted her arm, causing her significant pain, and struck her in the head. Surveillance footage presented during the trial showed Majors fleeing the scene on foot while Jabbari chased after him.

Connection to Marvel Studios

A major blow to Majors's career has been his arrest and subsequent conviction; this is especially true of his connection to Marvel Studios. The actor most recently portrayed the antagonist Kang the Conqueror in "Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania." The movie was supposed to herald in a new era for the company and spark more partnerships between Majors and Marvel, which would eventually result in the "Loki" series and "Avengers: The Kang Dynasty." Marvel may decide to replace the role or give up on any more Kang-related initiatives, but that much is unknown.

Impact on Majors' Career

In addition to Marvel, Majors has also faced consequences from other industry players. His public relations firm, The Lede Company, has dropped him, and his managers at Entertainment 360 have also severed ties. Majors' upcoming film, "Magazine Dreams," which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, has been pulled from its release calendar by Disney-owned distributor Searchlight Pictures.

Sentencing and Future Prospects

Majors is set to be sentenced in February and could face up to a year in prison for the third-degree assault charge. The actor's promising career has taken a significant hit due to the assault conviction, and it remains to be seen how this will impact his future prospects in the entertainment industry.
