Gandhi Godse review - Rajkumar Santoshi couldn't excite audiences

Rajkumar Santoshi's film Gandhi Godse has been met with a mix of reactions.

Gandhi Godse

The film follows the life of the infamous assassin of Mahatma Gandhi, Nathuram Godse, and his struggles to come to terms with his actions. While it is clear that Santoshi aimed for an accurate and sympathetic portrayal of Godse's life, it does not seem to have resonated with many viewers.

Some have praised the film for its brave choice of subject matter, its brilliant performances, and its technical aspects. However, other viewers have expressed disappointment that it failed to reach the heights of Santoshi's previous films. A common criticism of the movie is that it does not explore the nuances of Godse's motivations and that the characters are one-dimensional.

Overall, Gandhi Godse was not a great success, with many failing to find the same level of excitement that Santoshi was able to bring with his earlier films. While the film may have failed to reach its full potential, it is still an ambitious project and deserves recognition for its positive attributes.

Damini and Khakee

Some of the movies made by the top filmmaker have ruled the hearts of the previous generations including:

  • Andaz Apna Apna (1994)
  • Ghayal (1990)
  • Pukar (2000)
  • Damini (1993)
  • Ghatak: Lethal (1996)
  • Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani (2009)
  • Khakee (2004)
  • China Gate (1998)
  • Halla Bol (2008)
  • The Legend of Bhagat Singh (2002)

It only remains to be seen if this one catches the fancy of the audience as Pathaan rages on.
