BTS' Agency Responds to Ongoing Celebrity Drug Scandal in Korea: "No Connection to BTS

The Korean entertainment industry has seen itself surrounded with several Drug Scandals in the past few days. Big names in Industry like G-Dragon and Oscar winning film Parasite Fame Lee Sun Kyun are facing alleged drug charges. Speculations surrounding K-pop groups in drug investigations are also revolving around, concerning fans about the involvement of their idols. Amid this, Big Hit Music, the agency representing BTS, has released a statement to clear any involvement of BTS in the ongoing drug rumours.

According to a statement from the agency, they have clarified that BTS is entirely unrelated to the rumour, and they intend to take firm action against the indiscriminate spread of such rumours. However, they have not addressed the drug charges in their statement.

The statement came in response to the allegations on BTS by a news outlet, which was circulating rumours suggesting that BTS members were regular in the adult entertainment industry in Gangnam, similar to individuals like Lee Sun Kyun and G-Dragon who have been booked for alleged illegal drug usage and are under investigation. BIGHIT MUSIC was quick to deny their Idols connections to the drug case.

Army, the Fandom of BTS came in defence of their idols and showed their appreciation for Big Hit Music's swift clarification amidst various reports.

One fan on X expressed support for BigHit's statement, saying, "BTS members are not involved in the drug rumours; let's sue those spreading false information. Another fan humorously suggested that BigHit's legal actions fund snacks and treats for their employees and artists.

As per reports, Several more celebrities are currently under the heat for drug-related charges, with some of them already facing bookings. Agencies of many celebrities accused of their involvement in the Drug case have strongly denied the accusations and warned to take legal actions including LE SERAPHIM's Kim Chaewon, (G)I-DLE’s Jeon Soyeon, and singer-songwriter Park Sun Joo. 

Additionally, a high-profile girl group member was also rumoured to be part of the drug investigation, but the police, as reported by Naver News, stated that this information was entirely false, clarifying that there had been no internal investigation or official inquiry involving that particular member.
