Power couple Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli welcome baby boy, Akaay

Famous Indian batsman Virat Kohli announced on Tuesday that he and his lady love, actress Anushka Sharma, welcomed a son on February 15. Kohli and Anushka are already proud parents to a three-year-old daughter Vamika.

"With abundant happiness and our hearts full of love, we are pleased to inform everyone that on 15th February, we welcomed our baby boy Akaay & Vamika's little brother into this world!".

Meaning of the name 'Akaay'

Akaay is a name that has its roots in both Hindi and Turkish. If you search on Google, you'll find that it signifies "Illuminating light of the full moon." However, in Sanskrit, it holds a different meaning altogether. In Sanskrit, Akaay means "immortal" or "non-decaying." It's a special name that showcases the couple's cultural heritage and their fondness for traditional Indian names.

Kohli and Anushka announced on their social media profiles that the boy was born on February 15th. The duo went on to ask fans to respect their privacy at the moment.

Notably, Kohli prioritised family in 2021, returning home after the first of a four-test series against Australia to be with his wife during the birth of their first child.

The Indian star had initially withdrawn from the first two Tests against England, in which India lost the first in Hyderabad and won the second in Vizag. However, the Indian star would later withdraw from the entire series, citing personal reasons, with the BCCI supporting his decision.

AB de Villiers previously revealed on his YouTube channel that Kohli and Anushka were expecting their second child. However, a few days later, the former South African captain made a U-turn and claimed he had no idea why Kohli had taken a break.
