Actress Alia Bhatt is set to be the executive producer for the Amazon original series "Poacher," which is directed by Emmy Award winner Richie Mehta. The crime drama, produced by QC Entertainment, will be released on Prime Video on February 23. The series, based on true events, dives into India's largest ivory poaching network. Alia Bhatt contributes to the project through her production company, Eternal Sunshine Productions. Bhatt and her production team view the collaboration as an honour. "Poacher" will be released in several languages, including Malayalam, Hindi, and English.
Alia Bhatt's production house, Eternal Sunshine Productions, announced the news on Instagram, writing, "Beneath the silence, the forest reveals a deadly conspiracy... and the hunt for the Poacher begins!

According to a report published by 'The Hindu', in a statement, Alia Bhatt said, "The impact of Poacher was deeply personal, and Richie's portrayal of the urgent issue of wildlife crime resonated strongly with me and the team. The storytelling genuinely moved me, especially knowing it's based on true events that shed light on brutal crimes occurring in our forests.
"I am confident that Poacher will serve as an eye-opener, delivering a powerful message to be more compassionate and considerate towards all living beings. It's a call to embrace coexistence and I am genuinely thrilled to be collaborating with Richie, QC and Prime Video and to contribute to this narrative," Bhatt said in a statement.

"Poacher" is a unique project that aims to bring together the worlds of environmental conservation and entertainment. The story intends to highlight a key global concern - illegal poaching. The series has been created, written, and directed by Emmy-award-winning filmmaker Richie Mehta and features a talented and diverse cast, including Nimisha Sajayan, Roshan Mathew, and Dibyendu Bhattacharya in pivotal roles.
However, Alia Bhatt's next movie with Vasan Bala, titled 'Jigra', will be released on September 27, 2024. Alia Bhatt is collaborating with director Vasan Bala on her upcoming action film Jigra.
