Yogendra Bangar: The Man Who's Empowering Grandmothers Through Literacy

#TheUnsungHeros : Imagine grandmothers, dressed in vibrant sarees, carrying school bags and slates, heading to class with smiles on their faces.

This is the reality in Phangane* village, Maharashtra, home to India’s first school specifically for women over the age of 60.

Due to lifelong responsibilities, these women never had the chance to study in their childhood.

Now, thanks to the initiative by teacher Yogendra Bangar, these grandmothers head to school every afternoon after finishing their household chores to learn the alphabet and mathematics.

Hands that once could only leave thumbprints on documents now proudly sign their own names.

This classroom is more than just a place to study; it is a source of dignity and self-confidence, proving that learning truly has no age limit.
