The National Exit Test (NeXT) has been postponed by a year and is now anticipated to commence in 2025.

NExT was designed to replace both NEET-PG for postgraduate studies and FMGE (Foreign Medical Graduate Examination) for foreign medical graduates, assessing theoretical knowledge and practical skills through a two-part exam.

Despite potential benefits such as standardized assessments and improved practical skills, its implementation has been postponed, while NEET-PG continues to be India's gateway for postgraduate courses in medical education.
