To avoid the tension of finding room and food near the airport, Manohar International Airport in Mopa, north Goa has decided to have two hotels on the plots given for this purpose. GMR Goa has signed an agreement with two hotels but an official announcement is yet to be made.
These two names are, Indian Hotels Co. Ltd. (IHCL) which operates portfolios of hotels, resorts and also provides in-flight catering services, and the other name which is not confirmed yet but it is said to be a famous name in a food and beverages industry, French firm, Accor SA.
Each hotel will be given a plot of 2.13 acres. The structure will be 3-4 stars and each hotel will have nearly 150-200 rooms. This number may increase once a deal is finalized.
According to GMR Goa International Airport, each hotel will pay a concession fee of ₹10.65 crore and ₹1.8 crore as an annual licensing fee.
There are three plots reserved for the building and development of hotels, out of which two are almost done. The partner for the third plot reserved for the hotel has not been decided yet.
