Mohit Joshi, the former president of Infosys, has been appointed as the managing director and managing director (CEO) of the company and key managerial personnel under the Companies Act, 2013, with effect from December 20, 2023, to December 19, 2028 (both dates inclusive). This appointment was made public on Saturday by IT services provider Tech Mahindra. C P Gurnani will step down as leader on December 19 of this year, and Mohit Joshi will succeed him. Mohit Joshi will follow Gurnani, one of the longest-tenured CEOs in the Indian IT sector. The company has announced, "The Appointment of Mr. Mohit Joshi, as Managing Director (Designate) of the Company effective his date of joining the Company up to 19 December 2023."Mohit Joshi joins Tech Mahindra and leaves Infosys, where he is currently the President. According to the statement, Mohit has more than 20 years of experience in the enterprise technology software and consulting fields and has collaborated with some of the top corporations worldwide to promote digital transformation and build prosperous enterprises.
Mohit oversees the Global Financial Services & Healthcare, Software, Finacle (the banking platform), and the AI/Automation portfolio at Infosys. Mohit also held executive responsibility for all of Infosys' important business transactions and handled the company's sales operations and transformation. He is also in charge of the Internal CIO position and the Infosys Knowledge Institute. Since 2020, Mohit has served as a Non-Executive Director on the Risk & Governance and Nomination committees of Aviva Plc. Mohit joined the Young Presidents Organisation (YPO), and in 2014, he also enrolled in the prestigious Young Global Leaders program at the World Economic Forum in Davos. Mohit formerly held the position of Vice Chairman of the CBI's Economic Growth Board. Mohit worked in the corporate and investment banking divisions of ABN AMRO and ANZ Grindlays prior to joining Infosys in 2000. Mohit presently resides in London with his wife and two kids after having lived and worked in Asia, America, and Europe.
