For the first time ever, the collective wealth of 100 richest Indians has crossed a trillion dollars, and it now stands at an astonishing $1.1 trillion in 2024. The collective wealth surged 40% from last year's aggregate tally of $799 billion on this list of the latest Forbes. The BSE Sensex, India's benchmark stock index, had risen by 30% since fortunes were last measured, pushing the wealth of many top billionaires to record high levels. More than 80% of those on this year's list have seen their fortunes grow as 58 of them added $1 billion or more to their net worths.
Mukesh Ambani Leads the List
The chairman of Reliance Industries, Mukesh Ambani is on no. one position on Forbes 2024 list. With the net worth of $119.5 billion, his status has seen a rise of $27.5 billion compared to that in 2023, hence keeping him on top position for years in a row.
