Chief Twit Elon Musk carries a sink to Twitter HQ as he takes control

A rather funny video of Elon Musk walking into the headquarters of Twitter, holding a bathroom sink is going around on social media, as he takes over control of the microblogging platform. One of the first executives to be fired today was Parag Agarwal, the CEO of Twitter.

The video though was a  9-second clip that has been viewed nearly 30 million times since it was posted, and the tweet has attracted more than 1 million likes and over 178,000 retweets. He also wrote a caption along the video which said that "entering the Twitter HQ, let that sink in!''

The internet has been busy interpreting the reason for the sink in Elon's hands - First could be the 'letting it sink in', as Musk hopes, that the Twitter deal is finally done and dusted and second could be that he’ll likely throw everything and the kitchen sink at Twitter to get the social media platform to get it done as per his wishes and vision.

Elon Musk Twitter HQ

Among Musk's first moves that he made as soon as he got into the Twitter Headquarters was to fire some of the top executives of the company including - Chief Executive Officer Parag Agrawal; Vijaya Gadde, the head of legal, policy and trust; Chief Financial Officer Ned Segal, who joined Twitter in 2017; and Sean Edgett, who has been general counsel at Twitter since 2012. Agrawal stepped into the CEO role in November when co-founder Jack Dorsey resigned. Agrawal had been a part of the company's operations for over 10 years and had recently held the CTO post before he was appointed CEO.

Twitter will now operate as a private company owned and operated by Elon Musk who is also the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX. A group of banks including Bank of America, Barclays, BNP Paribas, Mizuho, Morgan Stanley, MUFG, and Societe Generale, have committed $13bn in loans of which Morgan Stanley alone has contributed about $3.5 billion for the deal.

Something that Musk had mentioned many times is that there will be strict actions against bots and scam accounts and there are likely to be significant changes in the content policies and how moderation works.
