During these unstable economic conditions, Amazon has fired around 9000 employees and hired nearly double of that, 18000. But Amazon has put a brake on their joining. It has deferred the joining of many new employees hired from top institutions of India like IITs and IIMs.
Recently, Amazon has been focusing on how to collect revenue and also cutting costs side by side. It has postponed the joining dates of many employees by 6 months, but this will have certain effects on new joiners. Some of the new people who got hired by Amazon share their experiences saying this will affect their resume. In this competitive world, one can not stay back at home for 6 months without a job. It's not financially affordable, and it will reflect negativity in the resume.
Graduates from almost all the campuses of IITs and even from NIIT's shared the same experience and said that their offer letter has been deferred by 6-7 months.
