TVS Motor: Electric Two-Wheeler Racing Championship, to Debut Apache RTE Motorcycles

TVS Motor Company has partnered with TVS Racing to launch India's first electric two-wheeler racing championship. The TVS Racing Electric One Make Championship (e-OMC) will debut at the fourth round of the Indian National Motorcycle Racing Championship (INMRC) on September 29, 2023. Eight riders, selected by TVS Racing, will compete on the newly developed TVS Apache RTE (Racing Throttle Electric) race motorcycles, which were designed specifically for this championship.

TVS have come up with some really cool tech for their race motorcycles. The liquid-cooled engine has a lot of power-to-weight ratio, plus it's got a cool motor controller too. The battery pack has some really powerful cells with really good chemistry, and the carbon fibre battery case is also a part of the chassis.

Other tech features include a custom-made Battery Management System with special algorithms for more advanced configuration control and improved safety. The motor is connected to the rear wheels via sprockets and a roller chain for maximum performance. The suspension is made up of Ohlins components, and the brakes are made up of Brembo parts, such as 320mm front discs, calipers and a master cylinder.

Moreover, the TVS Apache RTE race motorcycles are fitted with motorcycles have carbon fibre wheels to make them lighter and faster, and Pirelli Super Corsa tires for better grip.
