Ola Electric, a manufacturer of electric vehicles (EVs), debuted a new version - The Ola S1 Air scooter on Saturday having an initial price of Rs 79,99. The company offers five colour options including blue, white, black, grey, or red. The business has previously released the Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro, priced at Rs 99,000 and Rs 1,29,000, respectively.
The new S1 Air has an affordable cost, and when utilized in eco mode, it will have an actual range of 100 kilometres. Though Ola has redesigned the powertrain and battery pack, it is still built on the S1 platform and keeps the same design.
“Our objective was never to build a premium scooter or never to build only a scooter. It has been to transform the Indian mobility landscape to electric, and also make India a global leader in electrification,” Bhavish Aggarwal, founder of Ola Electric said. “And towards that goal, the next logical step for us is to launch a mass-market scooter and that is what we have done today.”
Features of Ola S1 A:
It weighs 99 kg which is 25 kg less than the S1 Pro and has a 2.5 kWh battery that allows it to reach a top speed of 90 km/h.
Additionally, it has a 7-inch digital touchscreen display, an 8-core processor running at 2.2 GHz, and 3 GB of internal RAM. Furthermore, it has a companion app, a 10W speaker for music playback, and a navigation function. It also includes Bluetooth connectivity, GPS navigation, side stand alert, and other features.
Charging stations:
According to the firm, the first 50 Hyperchargers in its charging network, which goes by the name of Hyperchargers, will be operational. “When we re-looked at the Hyperchargers network, we redesigned the scale required, we redesigned the places where we wanted to deploy and then we started deploying a few months back,” Aggarwal stated.
According to Aggarwal, Ola's collaboration with Bharat Petroleum Corporation was essential to expanding its charging network. “The basic proposition is that the consumers should always get a quick charging experience whenever they are in need, which is largely intercity, or in some high-street areas where you will be keeping the vehicle for a while,” Aggarwal said.
Price and Availability:
Ola S1 Air has been launched at the initial price of Rs 84999. However, as a festive offer for Diwali, the company will give its customers a discount of Rs 5000 till October 24, 2022. The booking drive has already been started, but the deliveries will commence around April 2023.
