Mercedes-Benz E-Class LWB Hits Indian Roads

Mercedes-Benz India has introduced its eighth new model for 2024, the new-generation E-Class Long Wheelbase (LWB). This latest offering comes with an introductory ex-showroom price starting at ₹78.5 lakh for the E 200 variant, ₹81.5 lakh for the E 220d, and ₹92.5 lakh for the E 450.

 

Deliveries for the more affordable E 200 variant commence today, while the E 220d will begin deliveries around Diwali, and the top-tier E 450 is expected to be delivered starting in November.

Enhanced Design

The new E-Class is available in two segme: The Avantgarde Line (E 200 and E 220d) and The AMG Line (E 450 4MATIC). This updated model features a longer and wider body compared to its predecessor, incorporating digital LED headlamps, flush-fitting door handles, star motifs in the LED tail lamps, and redesigned bumpers.

Luxurious Interior Features

Inside, the E-Class showcases the latest MBUX Hyperscreen technology, including a 12.3-inch driver display and a passenger display, with a central 14.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Additional luxurious features include a panoramic sunroof, four-zone climate control, two wireless chargers, powered seats, voice-assisted sunblinds, a selfie camera, and a Burmester 4D sound system with Dolby Atmos support. The rear seats offer enhanced comfort with electrically reclining options and comfort headrests.

Advanced Safety Features

For safety, the E-Class is equipped with Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), including active brake assist and adaptive cruise control. Additional safety measures encompass multiple airbags (including a central airbag), ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree parking camera, electronic stability control (ESC), and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS).

Powerful Engine Options

The engine lineup includes a 3.0-litre, six-cylinder unit that produces 376 hp and 550 Nm of torque, enhanced by a mild hybrid system that adds an extra 22 hp and 205 Nm of torque. Additionally, customers can choose between a 2.0-litre diesel engine and a 2.0-litre petrol engine, both paired with a nine-speed automatic gearbox.

The 2024 E-Class LWB enters a competitive market, rivaling models such as the BMW 5 Series LWB, Audi A6, and Volvo S90, solidifying Mercedes-Benz's presence in the luxury sedan segment.
