Hyundai Motor India has officially teased the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV SUV, which is set to debut at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo. Positioned to compete with rivals such as the MG ZS EV, Mahindra XUV 400, Tata Curvv EV, and the recently launched Mahindra Be6e, the Creta EV will also face competition from the forthcoming Harrier EV and Honda Elevate EV. Once launched, the Creta lineup will offer multiple engine options, including all-electric, turbo petrol, naturally aspirated petrol, and turbo diesel variants.
First Teasers and Design Highlights
Hyundai’s initial teaser includes an image of a wall-mounted electric car charger, followed by a closer look at the SUV’s design. Notable features revealed in the teaser include:
• Twin LED daytime running lights and an LED light bar at the front.
• Charging port integrated into the front fascia.
• Dual-tone alloy wheels with a redesigned look.
• Roof rails, contrasting ORVMs, and vertically stacked headlights.
• EV-specific details like a closed-off grille, unique badges, and distinct colour accents.
Recent sightings of a test mule in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, confirm that the EV retains the upright silhouette of its ICE counterpart. Minor aerodynamic adjustments are expected to enhance efficiency while preserving the signature design language of the Creta.
Exterior Tweaks for the EV Variant
To distinguish the Creta EV from its ICE version, Hyundai has introduced:
• A blanked-off grille.
• Redesigned front and rear bumpers.
• A repositioned Hyundai logo.
• A front-fender-mounted charging port.
• Aerodynamically optimised 17-inch alloy wheels.
Interior and Features
The interior design closely resembles the ICE variant but with some EV-specific updates. Spy shots reveal:
• Twin screens – one for infotainment and another for the digital instrument cluster.
• A redesigned steering wheel with a new logo, similar to Hyundai’s global EV models.
• Drive mode selector mounted on the steering column.
• Upholstery updates tailored for the EV variant.
The Creta EV is expected to offer an extensive list of features, including:
• EV-specific UI for infotainment and the digital cluster.

• Connected car technology.

Battery, Range, and Charging
While official details about the electric motor and battery pack remain under wraps, the Creta EV is expected to feature a 45-50 kWh battery capable of delivering a range of up to 450 km on a single charge. Hyundai is likely to include multiple charging options, such as:
• Home charging: Full charge in 6-8 hours.
• Fast charging: Significant charge in under an hour, ensuring convenience for daily use.
