Ashok Leyland has announced to start producing electric trucks. The company has said that it will start production at its Hosur factory in Tamil Nadu.
Ashok Leyland has also stated that these vehicles are being launched to increase LCV (light commercial vehicle) volumes.
They are set to start 2 new electric trucks, Dost and electric Bada Dost. According to Ashok Leyland, they are working with Switch Mobility for the sales of their electric products.
In the past 2 years, Ashok Leyland has increased its capacity by 15%-20%. As of now, the company has women in the assembly line and has a capacity of 62,000 engines.
