In a grand ceremony, a helicopter showered fresh flower petals over thousands of devotees gathered at the Himalayan shrine.

The temple remains closed for six months every winter due to heavy snowfall. It reopens each spring on an auspicious date set by priests.

Thousands have already arrived for the first darshan of the season.
