Zuckerberg reviews Apple's Vision Pro, says Meta's Quest 3 is better, lighter, and more comfortable

In a recent video posted on Instagram, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg emphasizes the advantages of the Meta Quest 3 over the Apple Vision Pro. In a video employing the high-resolution passthrough capability of the Quest 3 mixed reality headset, Mark Zuckerberg states, "I finally tried Apple Vision Pro, and I think the Quest 3 is the better product, despite being seven times less expensive."

Before testing the Vision Pro, Zuckerberg expected the Quest 3 to be a better value offering than the Vision Pro. After evaluating the Apple device, he says, "Quest 3 is not just a better value product, but it is a better product, period."

Zuckerberg stated, "Quest is better for the vast majority of things," and mentioned that the Quest 3 has a high-resolution passthrough, just like the Vision Pro. He went on to say that Quest 3 is far superior at other activities like traveling, engaging in gaming, socializing with friends, and more.

Zuckerberg claims that the Quest 3 is significantly more comfortable and weighs 120 grams less than the Vision Pro, which has a significant impact. Moving about is much simpler when there are no wires involved, and the Quest 3 is supposed to have a broader field of view and brighter panels than the Vision Pro. It's also claimed that the Meta headset's motion blur is superior to that of the Vision Pro.

Although Zuckerberg acknowledges that the Apple Vision Pro boasts a screen with a greater resolution, he asserts that several product concessions are made in terms of comfort, ergonomics, and quality. The Quest 3, like the Vision Pro, supports hand tracking, but not eye tracking. He affirms that eye-tracking features will be included in the upcoming Quest version.

The CEO of Meta also underlines how much more material Quest has to offer and how exclusive features like playing Xbox games are exclusively found on Quest. Additionally, he draws attention to the fact that many consumers believed the Vision Pro to be superior "because it is from Apple and costs $3,000 more."

According to Zuckerberg, the Meta Quest 3 is an open-model AR headset, whereas the Vision Pro is a closed-model gadget, which he compares to Macs and PCs.

At the moment, neither the Meta Quest 3 nor the Vision Pro headset are officially available in India. However, the Meta Quest 3 is readily available for about Rs 50,000 on websites like Amazon, whereas Vision Pro, which is presently only available in the US, must be imported.
