YouTube tests 'Playables': Online gaming product for web and mobile devices

An email sent to employees at Google, the parent company of YouTube, reveals that YouTube is conducting internal testing of a new product aimed at enabling online game playing. This move indicates YouTube's aspirations to expand its services beyond video hosting by offering games that can be easily played and shared among users. As reported by The Wall Street Journal, an email has surfaced, indicating that Google has invited its employees to participate in the testing stage of a new YouTube product called Playables. This product provides users with the opportunity to access games on both mobile devices and desktop computers.

According to a screenshot of the product, the games being made available for testing include titles like Stack Bounce. This particular game is an arcade-style game where players try to break layers of bricks using a bouncing ball. The email states that users can instantly play these games directly through the YouTube website on web browsers or through the YouTube app on mobile devices running Google's Android or Apple's iOS operating systems.
