In order to compete with Google, Microsoft, and OpenAI, Elon Musk has declared his desire to launch the "TruthGPT" artificial intelligence (AI) platform. His goal is to contest their current AI solutions, which he believes are not geared towards discovering the most truths possible.
Musk criticized Microsoft-backed OpenAI for "training the AI to lie" in an interview with Tucker Carlson on the Fox News Channel. He said that the business had turned "closed source," "for-profit," and "closely allied with Microsoft." He also made fun of Larry Page, a co-founder of Google, by saying that he did not take AI safety seriously.
He stated in the interview, "I'm going to start something that I call 'TruthGPT,' or a maximal truth-seeking AI that attempts to comprehend the nature of the cosmos.
TruthGPT, according to Musk, will seek to comprehend the nature of the cosmos and become the "best path to safety" that is "unlikely to annihilate humans." He claimed that the launch was an effort to bring a third choice to the Google and Microsoft services already available.
Ironically, Musk's decision to publish his AI platform followed a demand for a six-month hiatus from the development of systems more formidable than OpenAI's recently released GPT-4, citing potential threats to society.
Musk has also reaffirmed his caution over the risks of AI, noting that "AI is more dangerous than, say, poorly managed aircraft design or production maintenance or poor car production." He expressed concern that AI could lead to "civilizational destruction."
Using OpenAI, Musk
Musk co-founded OpenAI in 2015, but he left the board of directors in 2018. He acknowledged that he had to concentrate on Tesla and SpaceX in addition to having to leave OpenAI because "I didn't agree with some of what the OpenAI team wanted to do" and that "Tesla was competing for some of the same people as OpenAI."
According to rumors, Musk has been stealing Google AI researchers to find a business that will compete with OpenAI. According to a state document, Musk established a business called X.AI Corp, which was incorporated in Nevada, last month. The corporation lists Musk as its sole director.
