Microsoft confirms dropping Twitter from it's advertising platform

Microsoft has recently declared that it will no longer provide support for Twitter on its advertising platform, Smart Campaigns with Multi-platform, starting from April 25th. As a result, users will no longer be able to use their Twitter accounts through Microsoft’s social management tool, and they won't be able to perform actions such as creating and managing tweets, viewing past tweets and engagement, or scheduling tweets. However, Microsoft has confirmed that other social media channels such as Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn will still be accessible.

This decision has been partially influenced by Elon Musk's move to terminate free access to Twitter’s basic API and introduce a paid version for $42,000 per month, two months ago. After Microsoft's announcement, Musk accused them of using Twitter data illegally and threatened to sue them. It's worth noting that Twitter and Microsoft have had a contentious relationship, with the latter investing heavily in OpenAI, a company co-founded by Musk. However, Musk later left the company due to disagreements with his colleagues.
