Google's Exclusive AI Assistant Set to Make Its Debut with the Highly Anticipated Pixel 9 Series

In October of this year, Google released the Pixel 8 series of smartphones. In 2024, the Pixel 9 lineup is probably going to follow. Even though the new Pixel series isn't slated to release for some months, several web rumors about the phones' chipset and charging capabilities have appeared. According to a recent report, the tech behemoth headquartered in Mountain View, California, may be developing a new AI assistant specifically for Pixel devices, which might launch with the Pixel 9 series.

Google is reportedly developing Pixie, an AI helper that will only operate with Pixel devices, according to a report by The Information (via MySmartPrice). According to the article, the new AI assistant is anticipated to carry out every task currently carried out by the Google Assistant, plus additional ones. In 2024, the assistant is probably going to be integrated into the Google Pixel 9 series. Remember that 'Pixie' might not be the final name and instead be an internal codename.

Additionally, according to the source, Pixie will combine information from several Google services and products, like Gmail and Maps, to give users more individualized support. It is claimed to be capable of carrying out complex, multimodal tasks like pointing a person in the direction of the closest store so they can buy a product they've taken a picture of. Gemini Nano is expected to power the rumored AI helper.

According to the article, Google plans to extend Pixie's reach beyond the incoming top Pixel 9 series to include lower-end phones and other devices like wearables. It's unknown if the AI assistant will work with current cellphones or if it will only work with those in the future.

An earlier source speculated that Tensor G4 SoCs, which are expected to be code-named "Zuma Pro," will power the Pixel 9 phones. Interestingly, the Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are powered by Tensor G3 chipsets, which go under the codename "Zuma." It's also anticipated that the Google Pixel 9 series will be among the first Android phones to use Qi2 wireless charging.
