Women’s Premier League has been catching a lot of eyeballs. The first match of the tournament did not disappoint fans either. The match was played between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Giants at the Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy. Mumbai Indians showcased their amazing bowling as well as batting skills in the first match.
Mumbai Indians made a total of 207 runs for 5 wickets which is the highest-ever women’s domestic T20 score in India and second-highest overall in the country. Gujarat Giants could only make 64 runs in 15.1 overs.
Saika Ishaque was the star bowler for Mumbai, boasting figures of 3.1-1-11-4, while Nat Sciver-Brunt, the tournament’s joint most expensive foreign recruit, bagged 2 for 5. Amelia Kerr got 2 wickets for 12 runs.
The captain of Mumbai Indians, Kaur made 65 runs off 30 balls,14 of which crossed the ropes for four.
