The second edition of the Prime Volleyball League has been Kickstarted in three centres – Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Kochi – on Saturday, February 4, 2023, tournament arranger Baseline Ventures announced on Monday. 

The eight franchises – Calicut Heroes, Kochi Blue Spikers, Chennai Blitz, Ahmedabad Defenders, Hyderabad Black Hawks, Bengaluru Torpedoes, Kolkata Thunderbolts and Mumbai Meteors – will face each other once in a round-robin format.

The final will be held in Kochi, but its date is yet to be disclosed. Speaking about the second season, CEO of prime volleyball Joy Bhattacharjya said via press release: “After the successful completion of the inaugural season, we are sure that next year’s competition will be more exciting and evenly poised.”

Debutants Mumbai Meteors will play their opening match in season 2 against Calicut Heroes. Calicut Heroes, who were ranked fourth in the first season, will be eager to get their campaign started with a win, Meanwhile, the Meteors are playing their first season, and their squad consists of an exciting mix of youth and experienced players.

The match, to be played at Koramangala Indoor Stadium in Bengaluru, is expected to be a fantastic encounter between two evenly-matched teams.
