Simone Biles creates history with Sixth All Round at World Gymnastics Championship

Simone Biles, the highly esteemed American gymnast, gracefully earned her sixth all-around title at the Artistic Gymnastics World Championships, further solidifying her unparalleled status as the most accomplished gymnast in the sport's history. With an outstanding total score of 58.399, Biles astounded audiences with exceptional performances on multiple apparatus. Her vault routine laid an extraordinary groundwork, which was then followed by flawless displays on the bars and beam. Despite a minor stumble on the floor, Biles flawlessly executed her tumbling routine, ultimately securing a well-deserved victory.

Biles, who achieved her first all-around world title in Antwerp at the age of 16, ten years ago, has impressively gathered a remarkable total of 27 world medals, with an astounding 21 of them being gold. Moreover, just two days before, she remarkably guided the U.S. women's team to their seventh consecutive title.

With this outstanding achievement, Biles also surpasses Belarusian Vitaly Scherbo's record of 33 medals at the Olympic Games and World Championships. Reflecting on this momentous event, Biles said: “I was emotional because 10 years ago I won my first world championships, and now here we are again. So it was emotional. It means everything to me, the fight, everything I have." "I gave everything to get back to this place to feel comfortable and confident enough to compete."

Following a two-year break from the sport in order to prioritize her mental well-being, Biles has made a remarkable comeback in international competition. Presently, she has achieved the impressive feat of having five skills named after her, including two on-floor exercises, two on vault, and one on balance beam. Biles humbly expresses pride in the effort she has invested to reach this stage, acknowledging that the true impact of her accomplishments may only truly resonate once she retires and reflects upon her journey.

The second position was achieved by the esteemed Brazilian Rebeca Andrade, a former world champion, who displayed a spectacular floor routine and accumulated a total score of 56.766. Accomplished American gymnast Shilese Jones secured her place on the podium with a score of 56.332.

Biles is excitedly prepared for the vault and uneven bars finals on Saturday, which will be followed by the beam and floor exercise finals on Sunday. Her incredible accomplishments consistently serve as an inspiration and redefine the gymnastics realm.
