For Rajeshwari to have a chance at making the final, she had to score a flawless 25. After two days of qualifying, only the top six out of thirty advance to the final. Rajeshwari is now ranked twenty-fourth. The other Indian, Shreyasi Singh, is ranked twenty-second.

PV Sindhu, India's top badminton player with two Olympic medals, will be in action next. Kristin Kuuba of Estonia will play Sindhu in the Women's Singles Group Stage match. The two-time Olympic medallist Sindhu will be trying to show off her strength and win this match to move on to the Round of 16.
