India is not visiting Pakistan for Asia Cup 2023

The day he started his second stint as BCCI secretary, Jay Shah clearly said “India will not participate in 2023 Asia Cup" "It should be held at a neutral venue. We can't travel to Pakistan. Back in the past too, the Asia Cup has been played at a neutral venue," BCCI Secretary Jay Shah stated. Sources associated to PCB chairman Nawaz sharif said that after Jay Shah's statement, Pakistan is also giving a thought of opting out of coming ODI World Cup to be held in India later this year

Neutral venue for the Asia Cup is not unparalleled. We have decided that we will not visit Pakistan,” Jay Shah, also the president of the Asian Cricket Council, addressed the media after the Annual Meeting (AGM) of the board. Neutral venue will probably be UAE, which hosted the 2018 Asia Cup with India holding the hosting rights. Last year's 2022 edition of the Asia Cup, which was supposed to be hosted by Sri Lanka, was also held in UAE. Both India and Pakistan can’t play on each other’s soil right now because of the political clashes

“It’s too far ahead,” was his response, when asked about the idea of India traveling to Pakistan for the Asia Cup. Shah was edged by BCCI’s newly appointed committee. While India and Pakistan have played each other in the World Cup and Asia Cup, India have not visited Pakistan since 2008.

“The PCB is prepared to take some tight decisions and go with clarity because it is also aware that the ICC and ACC events will have to face commercial liabilities and losses if Pakistan does not play India in these multi-team events,”
