While the outcome of the T20 world cup on 23rd October 2022 resulted in joy for India on Diwali eve, Pakistan, on the other hand, endured heartbreak. After the match, Pakistan captain Babar Azam lifted the spirits of the team by delivering a heartwarming speech. He has been seen addressing the team and motivating them for coming back stronger for the upcoming matches.
He lifted the spirits of the team and mentioned that although some mistakes were committed, the overall performance of the team was worth lauding and the players should move forward in the tournament without any baggage from the India match, and give their best in the future. He pointed out that players should refrain from any blame game and take heart from the fact that the team was able to take it till the very last ball of the contest.
He also added that the tournament has just started and a lot of matches are left. And they did not lose because of one person but lost as a team and will come back stronger as a team. He motivated the team members and made sure no one feels blamed and no fingers are pointed at one person. The team was commended for their outstanding persona, small mistakes do keep happening and are learning experiences.
Mohammad Nawaz bowled a waist-high no-ball which Kohli smashed for six, thus giving India a free hit, and then followed it with a wide that really proved costly for Pakistan. Despite this mistake, the Pakistani captain supported Nawaz and backed him to deliver a lot of match-winning performances further. The captain commended Nawaz and said, “Khaas taur se, Nawaz. Ghabra mat. Koi masla nahi. Tu match-winner hai mera. (Especially, Nawaz, don't worry. You are my match-winner) and I will always have belief in you."
It was a pressure game but the team played well, we agree to that too, Babar! And yes, more matches ahead so chin up to you and your team!
