After all the drama, Cristiano Ronaldo has finally broken his silence over the Piers Morgan interview. This is the same interview that has now subjected Ronaldo to immense backlash and has also led to the termination of Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United.

In the said interview with Piers Morgan, the 37- year old gave him uncensored thoughts on the management of Manchester United, as well as saying that he doesn't respect manager Erik ten Hag, Ronaldo also claimed that few of the key players have tried to force him out. 

After this interview was aired on Thursday, 17th November, Manchester United said that they would be suing for breach of contract and terminating Cristiano Ronaldo. It is now being speculated that the player knew the interview would end his career and was indeed a well-planned move. “To be brutally honest, I think that he knew,” Morgan told FS1 when asked if Ronaldo knew the consequences of the interview. “Look, he’s a very smart guy, Cristiano, he knows what he’s doing."

Although now according to ESPN Manchester has decided against a lengthy battle in the courtrooms and is hoping for a swift exit of the 5 time Ballon d'Or winner. According to Manchester United, if everything goes right, Cristiano Ronaldo will be able to choose a new team after returning from the Qatar World Cup.

Yesterday in a press conference, Ronaldo stated that he stands by what he said, he also added saying that he is sure that this interview won't affect Portugal. “I'm totally convinced this won't have any influence on the Selecao. Every player, manager, president and kit man, they all know who I am, and what I think, they know me since I was 11 years old. They won't be influenced by what people say or write.”
