Election dates for five states announced by ECI today

Today, the Election Commission of India (ECI) held a press conference to announce the dates for the assembly elections that will take place in the five states of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Telangana, and Mizoram.

The first round of voting in Chhattisgarh's two-phase election will take place on November 7 and on November 17, the second part will take place. Madhya Pradesh will hold its legislative elections on November 17. Mizoram will hold elections on November 7, Rajasthan on November 23, and Telangana on November 30 in a single phase.

The statement includes information about the dates for all five states' nomination filing, election days, and result declaration. An observer meeting was convened by the Election Commission on Friday to develop a plan for an orderly election. To guarantee the Model Code of Conduct is implemented and that money does not impact the fair playing field, the police, general, and expenditure observers of EC met to streamline their plan.

In addition to electing representatives for 230 constituencies in Madhya Pradesh, Telangana will elect representatives for 119 constituencies, Chhattisgarh for 90 constituencies, Rajasthan for 200 constituencies, and Mizoram for 40 constituencies.

At a press conference, Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Rajiv Kumar announced that the vote-counting process would take place in all five states on December 3. Before the Lok Sabha elections in 2024, these are the final round of assembly elections.
