While Donald Trump appears to be the front-runner to take on US President Joe Biden in 2024, this time Indian-American leaders are also in a race to 'make America great again' by transcending Trump.
The former US president Donald Trump, who is in the lead for the Republican Party's presidential run for 2024 despite the legal issues he is dealing with, will be countered by Vivek Ramaswamy, Nikki Haley, and Hirsh Vardhan Singh.
Republicans' national convention, which will officially choose their party's next presidential nominee, will take place in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, from July 15–18, 2024.
Nikki Haley: The only female candidate in the Republican primary is Nikki Haley, a former governor of South Carolina and Trump's first ambassador to the United Nations. The 51-year-old daughter of Indian immigrants has spoken proudly of her tenure in the Trump administration, portraying herself as a constantly underappreciated underdog who has never lost an election.
Vivek Ramaswamy: a tech entrepreneur, entered the US Republican presidential nomination race as an outsider in February but has since moved up to third place, trailing only Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and former president Donald Trump. The parents of Ramaswamy immigrated to the US from Kerala and worked at a General Electric Plant in Ohio.
The 37-year-old has become widely recognized throughout the world for his innovative approach to drug development and dedication to revolutionizing healthcare. In his campaign for president, he pledges to "put merit back" and end dependency on China.
Hirsh Vardhan Singh: Engineer Hirsh Vardhan Singh has also entered the competitive US Presidential contest to "take back our country and prioritise citizens." Mr. Singh, 38, claimed in a video message shared on Twitter that he has been an "America First" conservative and "lifelong Republican" who has sought to revive the New Jersey Republican Party's conservative wing.
