India put on another dominant display and crushed Sri Lanka by a massive 302 runs at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday. With this impressive victory, their seventh consecutive win, India has become the first team to secure a spot in the semifinals.
Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, and Shreyas Iyer played outstanding innings to help India reach a formidable score of 357/8 after being asked to bat first. Unfortunately, Rohit Sharma was dismissed early by Dilshan Madushanka, who later went on to take five wickets. Despite this setback, Kohli and Gill both scored half-centuries and built a fantastic partnership of 189 runs. Madushanka eventually ended their partnership and prevented them from reaching their centuries. Sri Lanka fought back by taking the wickets of KL Rahul and Suryakumar Yadav. However, Iyer showcased his brilliant form and smashed a quickfire 82 off just 56 balls, ensuring that India crossed the 300-run mark. Towards the end, Ravindra Jadeja added some valuable runs with a couple of powerful hits, taking India's total beyond 350.

Mohammed Shami, who is in excellent form, took five wickets in total to conclude the Sri Lankan innings in just 19.4 overs.
