Pakistan has attacked "terrorist hideouts" in Iran in response to an attack on the headquarters of a Balochi group in Pakistan. Pakistan's Foreign Ministry said that several terrorists were killed in the operation, which was codenamed "Marg Bar Sarmachar." Nine people were killed in the attack, four of them children, according to Iranian media. Pakistan, which claimed that the strikes were in the country's best interests and for its own safety, referred to Iran as a "brotherly country."
Pakistan has long been worried about the safe places where terrorists from Pakistan can stay in Iran. The country says that it has shared several dossiers with solid proof of these terrorists' presence and activities. On the other hand, these terrorists kept attacking innocent Pakistanis because Iran did nothing.
Iran had already gone after two Balochi group bases in Pakistan's Balochistan province. Pakistan told Iran that there would be serious consequences for violating its airspace. Iran's actions have caused Pakistan to recall its ambassador and stop all high-level visits between the two countries.
The initial attack by Iran and the retaliatory strikes by Pakistan happened at a time when tensions are high in the Middle East, with the conflict between Hamas and Israel still going on and more attacks on ships in the Red Sea.
