Education technology tycoon Byju’s fired thousands of employees, as the company faces a legal argument with lenders in the United States for a 1 Billion dollar loan. This company fired thousands of employees on the whole, from literally all the functioning departments on Monday 19th June 2023.
Previously Byju's had announced laying off 5% of the employees for 6 months, from October 2022 last year. Some sources claim that this layoff could be to revive the economy of the company in 2023.
“BYJU's has laid off close to 1,000 employees. However, the final headcount of the company remains around 50,000 because of the addition of new employees," a source told PTI.
