Binna ( Garcinia indica)
“Bhinna” is a natural body coolant, rich anti-oxidant, helps in weight loss, controls diabetics, helps in digestion, and is packed with vitamins, this tree primarily grows in Goa and Konkan regions.
Solkadi prepared with Binna/Kokum(locally known as Sola) is a part of the Goan cuisine, which can easily be prepared without much time, there are different ways one can prepare it.
The main purpose for having it after meals is for proper digestion, many have it along with rice whereas few just drink once done with the meal, it’s also served in restaurants along with veg or non-veg Goan Thali.
Apart from meals, Binnache Sarbat / Kokum Soda is also consumed during summer. Well, even the fruit tastes awesome if had with salt and a few green chili pieces.
I am sure like me most of you will love to have soul-Kadi. ❤
