A travel insurance scam is very prevalent in visa procuring agencies. They are people who tend to lure money from people taking advantage of the urgency to get a visa. Fake insurance agencies and fake policies are widely present, we have to keep our eyes out to ensure we are safe from those fraudulent agencies. Sometimes we tend to believe that these agencies are real only to find out that they are fake after moving to another country without any insurance.
Ghost broker is a term used to refer, to where an individual poses himself to be an insurance agent, and that he/she is from a reputed insurance agency. These people falsely lead you to some fake procedures for getting insurance, and once they get the money in hand they bail out and change their identity.
Fake Add ons are another easy way the commoner gets affected. They are bound to look out for any discounts or pricing changes in the insurance companies, and when they find a company giving a better add-on or discount, they shift instantly without analyzing the whereabouts of the company. There are also phishing scams, where fraudulent emails and phone calls continue to bombard us and falsely lead to fetching our bank details without our consent.
Hence it s imporatant to be wary of the pricing in these insurance companies, and make a note on their promises. We should be mindful of the above mentioned scams and reach out to well established agencies.
