How far will our society fall? Infertility used as grounds for divorce

In today's changing and woke world we think that people don't put a lot of pressure on female partners to have a child or a santaan who can ‘take the family name forward’, but the sad reality of our country is that even in now in the 21st-century people leave their wives solely because they can’t or are unable to give birth.

How far will our society fall? The inability to bear children can lead to divorce

A recent case has emerged where the husband filed for divorce after finding out that his wife has a cyst in her uterus and is unlikely to give birth. The couple has been married for 2 years and has lived in the same house for just 2 months.

Not only this but he added many allegations to make his case stronger, the court has refused his plea for divorce stating that it has no grounds.

The shocking takeaway from this case is that a 24-year-old was obsessed with having a kid who was his blood that he refused to look at the multiple options provided for him and went straight to divorce.

When we look at cases like this we understand that no matter how much we promote movies or books our society will have the mindset of “Khoon toh Khoon hi hai”.

It is unsure how the couple will continue their life, but one thing can be realized from this particular case. It is a fact that even though India is achieving tremendous lengths in the education department. The knowledge and mindset of our society have had zero change.

As the saying goes - Knowledge is the treasure but practice is the key to it.

As Indians, we leave no stone unturned while learning or raising awareness about adoption, surrogacy, and all the other practices, but when it comes to implementing these teaching our society takes a step back.
