Job security is one of the pluses of working for the government. Should you find work in this sector, you are more or less secure from sudden termination or layoff. Many want to get into service in the government because of its safety and job security, often until retirement.
Private Jobs
On the other hand, employment in the private sector is flexible to market changes, economic crises, and a given company's performance. Unlike government jobs, there is no security in the private sector because, during tough times, firms will lay off some of their employees. However, private sector opportunities offer conditions where people can move from one job to another or one position to another without any difficulties.

Moreover, the staff can normally avail of weekends and holidays so they have ample time to work hard and play hard.

However, most government posts are popularly described as the most satisfying job due to several factors: stability, harmonious work-personal life, and positions within society. From this line, government employees are proud that they are valued in society and that in most cases, they have an impact on improving public health. Which one is better?
That must be the final decision of a person on which field to completely work in, depending on their diverse career aspirations, values, and preferences. If one's concern is stability, work-life balance, and long-term benefits, then a government job is a good option. On the other hand, if you are looking for growth, a higher potential salary, and are ready to take risks, you would want a job in the private sector.
These two sectors diverge with their own sets of pros and cons. One has to be very careful while balancing the factors and should make a decision that will be in harmony with career ambitions and lifestyle.
