Websites of several airports in Germany are down after suspected cyberattack

The ADV airport association reported that a suspected cyberattack struck the websites of seven German airports on Thursday, one day after a significant IT failure at Lufthansa (LHAG.DE) left thousands of passengers stranded.

Dusseldorf, Nuremberg, and Dortmund were among the affected airports; however, the websites for Frankfurt, Munich, and Berlin, Germany's largest airports, remained operational.

It is uncommon for multiple airport websites to suddenly go offline at the same time, despite the fact that websites occasionally experience issues and even go offline. It is believed that cyberattacks on airport infrastructure are the cause of these outages because of their proximity to one another and their nature.
